DICE and EA have released details regarding Battlefield Hardline’s upcoming open beta, as well as what game modes will be available to play and on which platforms the beta will be hosted on.

The beta will begin on Tuesday February 3 and last until Sunday February 8 across North America, Europe, and all other major territories that the game will ship on when launched. The beta will be available across PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 except in Japan where it will not be on Xbox platforms.

There will be three modes to play from during the beta:

  • Conquest: A more traditional team-based deathmatch mode, which supports up to 64 players (the cap on PS3 and Xbox 360 is 24 players).
  • Hotwire: A high-speed vehicle based multiplayer mode where criminals attempt to take marked cars, while police try to repossess them.
  • Heist: Essentially a bank job, mixing gunplay with getaways as one team attempts to enter a bank vault and take the cash to safe points dotted across the map, up against a team of cops.

“There’s nothing more valuable to our team than the relationship we have with our community. Their passion feeds our passion and their feedback has definitely helped make Hardline a better game,” said Steve Papoutsis, general manager of developer Visceral Games.

“We want them to play the hell out of the beta next week and trust that they’ll keep that feedback coming so we can continue to fine tune the game.”

The game launches on March 17 in the US and March 20 in the UK on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.

  • From the studio that brought you Dead Space 3 and the publisher that decided Battlefield 4 was good enough to hit store shelves comes Battlefield Hardline. A game that takes CS GO and turns it into cops and robbers.

Haha, while the concept seems a little silly for a Battlefield game, I’m kind of excited to see how this game turns out. Finally something at least a little different than the past few Battlefield games have been.

      • Everything is a battlefield. Love is a battlefield…. get locked and loaded for Battlefield: BFs vs xGFs vs BFFs. Sad thing is people go to the game because its military. This deviation won’t do much I don’t think.
