Ubisoft has announced that their will be a free expansion launching next week for Assassin’s Creed Unity, titled Dead Kings, which is set after the events that occurred in the main game. Ubisoft describes the story as follows:

“After the events of Assassin’s Creed Unity, Arno leaves Paris for Saint Denis, a mysterious city that holds the crypts of deceased French kings. Sent on a mission to the extensive underground of the Basilica, Arno will face a faction of new foes, the Raiders, populating its catacombs. Equipped with a lantern and a new powerful weapon, the Guillotine gun, Arno will have to navigate the dangerous passageways to uncover the darkest secrets of the city.”

While Dead Kings was originally scheduled to be apart of the Unity DLC pass for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, Ubisoft decided to release it for free for all players on January 13 because of the troubled, buggy launch the game had back in November.

  • Uh well its DLC alright. It sounds like a bridge between this game and the next.

I just started playing Unity the other day. Surprisingly I’m actually enjoying it! I hated 4, didn’t really like 3 so I thought I had given up on the franchise. Probably the really low expectations I had for Unity going in is probably why I’m liking it so much. It’s not as good as the Ezio trilogy, but it’s definitely the best game since then.

      • I’ve never played an Assassin’s Creed game. Even if you give up on the franchise, just wait another year 🙂 And yes having low expectations helps. I find that about movies too. When I watch a trailer and say wow I do not want to watch that movie at all. It usually turns out to be some gem.
