Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has added in new content with its newest 2.51 patch in the form of the familiar Gold Saucer; which pays homage to Final Fantasy VII’s location of the same name. Within the Gold Saucer are many added content for players of the MMORPG to sink their teeth into including: Final Fantasy VIII’s Triple Triad, loads of minigames, chocobo racing and breeding, mini events and loads of gear to don your characters!
The free week event starts now from February 27th 2015 at 8.00am (GMT) to Monday March 9th 2015 at 8.00am (GMT). The requisite to partake in this event is to simply have a previous inactive account on the game.
I loved playing Final Fantasy XIV, despite not really a fan of MMO’s. It’s a game that’s a love letter to the franchise’s fans and adding more content like this just consolidates how much enjoyment I could have from this. It’s just a shame I don’t have as much time to play this for long hours into the night like I used to, but I’ll definitely log back in and give this a whirl.
