Earlier this month, GameStop had the new Majora’s Mask-themed New3DS XL edition up for pre-order online. However, after only 15 minutes, they ran out. Later that day, Best Buy had it up. 70 minutes later, it too sold out. And now, Best Buy, GameStop and Fry’s, who also had it for a whopping 17 minutes, are even going so far as to cancelling pre-orders.
“The viral popularity of this product exceeded the quantities made available to Fry’s by the manufacturer… If Nintendo decides to increase our allocation for this limited edition product, we will contact you to give you the opportunity to purchase this product.”, said a spokesperson for Fry’s.
