Condemned

Jason Hall, former founder of Monolith Productions and creator of the Condemned series, is wondering if people would be interested to play a third game in the horror franchise, or even to make one, as he stated on his Facebook page. This is because Jason is currently focused on other things and would consider giving the license to a “proven indie development team”. Hall stated that:

There have been 2 game titles released for the franchise, ‘Condemned: Criminal Origins’ and ‘Condemned: Bloodshot’ – they both did well, and I am consistently asked when a third game might be created. Since I am focused on other things, and will be for quite some time, this franchise is just sitting there. I am contemplating finding an interested and proven Indie development team and providing it to them, so that they can take over the franchise and move it forward. As an indie, it can be very hard to get marketing/media attention for a title that you work on. This franchise is already quite known, has market demand, and is in an innovative genre/category.

So did you enjoy the Condemned games and would you play another in the series? Let us know!

  • That sounds familiar. I think the bottom line is is it fun or does it provide a good experience or challenge. Those three should be the aim. Heck it can be PacMan in a horror game and if it gives one of those things people will love it and buy it.

And if a franchise is just sitting there, do something with it. Looks like the second one sold 600,000 its probably worth another try.

    • Good shout. I never played either of the games but I do remember them having a bit of a following.
