A release date for the Wii U version of Klei Entertainment’s Don’t Starve, known as the “Giant Edition,” has been announced. The developer confirmed that Don’t Starve will debut on May 28 in North America and June 4 in Europe.

To celebrate the game’s arrival on Nintendo platforms, Klei Entertainment has also announced a special promotion. Players who purchase the game for Wii U before June 28 will receive an extra copy of the title for free.

The Giant Edition includes both the original game and the “Reign of Giants” expansion, which added new characters, seasons, and enemies.

The Wii U version’s unique selling point is its usage of the Gamepad, which will allow players easier access to their inventory and the ability to play off-TV.

Originally released in 2013 for PC, Don’t Starve has already been ported to Playstation 4 and PS Vita. Currently, the title is not available on Microsoft consoles.
