Damien Monnier – one of the senior game designers on the upcoming The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, has recently pointed out that he’d rather play the game on a PC with minimum requirements than an Xbox One.

This was his response to a Twitter user who asked if Damien would recommend playing the game on a PC with low specs or an Xbox One.

This is likely due to the fact that the game only runs at 900p on Xbox One whereas it runs at 1080p on PC and PS4 – a difference which is noticeable, according to Damien.

CD Projekt Red are at work to try to get The Witcher 3 running at 1080p on Xbox One, but apparently the necessary updates to the system software’s development kit would not make much difference, so we should probably expect the Xbox One version to be the least pretty of them all. Nevertheless, Damien said that the developers will try to make it happen, they just don’t want to make any promises that they may not be able to deliver on.

Does resolution matter to you? Will the difference be noticeable? Let us know.

Keep destoying gaming you pathetic fanboy “journalists”. The dev said its the same game on ps4 and xbox one no matter 900 or 1080p. Xbox one frame rate will be higher than ps4s….Ill take the xbox one version.

    • Hailey

The frame rate will NOT be higher on X1 than PS4.

Doesn’t matter to me anyway cause I’ll be playing it on ultra settings @4k, 120FPS.

      • Ikkkio

Yes it will be. 900p with the best frame rate is better than 1080p with a lesser frame rate…therefore the xbox one version is the one i want.

        • Hailey

They will both be locked at 30fps. But why don’t you just get it for PC? I will be playing it at 120fps and 4K…just a thought. I’m sure it’ll look fine and run decently on the consoles, but a game of this caliber deserves the best platform to run on, so that would be PC.
