Steins;Gate is a Japanese visual novel that was originally released in 2009. The game has made its rounds on a variety of consoles, and will be released on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita later this year in Europe and North America. Ahead of that, a new trailer and batch of screenshots have been released.
The new screenshots and trailer (seen below) introduce the characters in Steins;Gate. This includes Okabe Rintaro, the game’s main antagonist, and self proclaimed mad scientist. The trailer and screenshots give us a glimpse at the characters that will show up in the game.
Steins;Gate is a visual novel set in 2010. The main themes of the game are the notions of time and time traveling. The concept of cause and effect is at play here, as the protagonist travels back in time numerous times in order to perform different actions and attempt to alter the future. The game has been expanded into a manga and anime series, and also an animated film.
Steins;Gate will release in Europe on June 5th. The game will be available on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. The game will release in North America at a later date.
