If you’ve been playing any of the recent titles in the Borderlands series and find that you aren’t getting enough legendary items, you’re in luck. Now there’s going to be 3 times as many!
Gearbox has been performing a test on legendary item drops from April 9th to May 13th. During this time they played around with different rates at which legendary items would fall, but also did not inform the players of the exact details of the changes. “We did this because we wanted to find out what drop rate felt right and didn’t want player opinions being influenced by the numbers,” explained Jeff Skal of Gearbox.
After these tests and helpful feedback on forums and surveys, they landed on changing the drop rate to 3 times as many legendary items. Pretty exciting stuff. Effective since May 26th, the legendary items in Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, and Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, will now drop 3 times as much as before. I guess it’s time to get to some looting in Pandora.
