Tokyo-based games consultant Serkan Toto has said Nintendo is against producing unique hardware for the Chinese market.

That plan was revealed last year and Nintendo seems to have been very poised on the subject regarding China’s removal of a ban on games consoles. Iwata has voiced an opinion that “something new” would be required to really make an impact in emerging markets like China.

It seems fair. We don’t want Nintendo to  bite off more than they can chew. Even though Sony and Microsoft have released their existing next-generation systems in China, Nintendo has a lot of things that they are working on at this time.

How do you feel about this? Do you think that Nintendo is making a smart move? Or are they losing money buy letting their competitors have China all to themselves?
