Yooka-Laylee is an upcoming 3D-platformer from Playtonic Games. The title is a spiritual successor to the classic Rare game Banjo-Kazooie. Recently a new character for the title was revealed: Trowzer.

Trowzer (seen below) is a snake who wears (surprise, surprise) a pair of trousers. The character will function as a support character for the game’s title characters, and will help teach them new abilities. According to the game’s website: “Trowzer is a business-snake whose career never took off. Not that he knows it – the smug, serpent salesman thinks he’s the bees knees (not that he has knees), and for a little dosh he’ll teach you some of the slick moves he picked up on the high-stakes sales floor.” Yooka-Laylee creative lead Gavin Price explains that Trowzer “thinks of himself as the best salesman ever.”

Yooka-Laylee was funded by Kickstarter. The campaign was a massive success, blowing through the $270,000 goal in under 40 minutes. The game has become the fastest game to earn $1 million on Kickstarter. As of this writing the game has raised over $2,300,000. You can check out the game’s Kickstarter page here.
