News broke yesterday that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has surpassed one million pre-orders, though platform specifics weren’t divulged – it’s a fair bet the majority of PC users did so digitally. While not as prevalent as PC, a recent study showed digital game sales on consoles lie at just under 20%, a number which gamers conceded is only likely to rise.

What does this mean? It means upon release of The Witcher 3, our instant gratification generation can be instantly gratified. If you’ve pre-ordered on PC via Steam or GOG.com you can start the 35gb download now, those that used Origin will be able to preload from the 14th.

As for consoles, it’s available to preload on Xbox One right now with Playstation 4 to follow soon.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will ‘unlock’ on 19th May at 1:00 AM CET (Warsaw time), that’s:
May 18th, 4.00 pm PT (Los Angeles)
May 18th, 7.00 pm ET (New York)
May 19th, 00.00 am BT (London)
May 19th, 2.00 am UT (Moscow)
May 19th, 8.00 am JT (Tokyo).
