Today at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco, Epic Games announced that Fortnite will be getting a public beta for both PC and Mac this Fall. Fortnite has had multiple betas already on PC, but will now allow Mac users to experience the game as well.

Fortnite is the latest game developed by Epic Games, the creators of Gears of War and Unreal Tournament.  It is a team-based multiplayer game, where players work together to scavenge materials and build-up fortifications. They will then have to hold off waves of enemies through traps, constructions, and classic third-person shooting.

Epic Games’ Josh Adams and Bill Bramer took the stage at the Apple Conference to show a demo of Fortnite running on Mac. They stated that the beta and full game will be available to both Mac and PC users.

This will be the first game built by Epic on the Unreal 4 Engine. As of now, there is no confirmation that it will be coming to consoles, but Epic has expressed interest in a console version once it is up and running on PC.
