Fallout 4 was announced less than a week ago, and the internet has already been rampant with theorizing and speculation. This Youtube channel in particular has released a video exemplifying a careful analysis of the trailer that was released on Wednesday. For a game that doesn’t have a release date in sight, the level of detail that has gone into said video is pretty impressive.

The channel in question consists of nine people in total, all dedicated to examining every angle of said trailer to determine exactly where Fallout 4 will take place. They also took it upon themselves to upload these pictures to Imgur, for those that are into that kind of thing. While I won’t match the passion that they share, below I’ll give a cliffnotes version of what was discovered.

Note: If you would prefer to go in cold, ignore everything after this.

One important aspect of the trailer are the repeated shots of “Battery Tower,” as shown in post-apocalyptic Boston. Another interesting discovery is the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, commonly referred to as “The Institute” in both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, respectively.

Then we move to the “garage,” which is the roadside station containing the power armor spotted in the announcement trailer.

And finally, we move onto Vault 111. The location has been deciphered as Whitney Hill Park in Watertown, which is west of the city.
