The gaming world is currently suffering from a major case of Fallout fever – if it’s managed to escape your attention – Fallout 4 was officially unveiled a few days ago with a pretty substantial trailer, one which has garnered mixed reactions and sparked a big graphical debate. It also lead to Fallout 3 (a game that is seven years old) gaining a sales boost of over 1000% on Amazon.

Amongst all this numbered Fallout news; it has emerged, via Gamespot, Fallout New Vegas still exists.

A player going by Rydou has completed a speed run taking only 27 minutes to finish the game. Speed runs are only ever an exercise in… well, speed. So shortcuts and trickery are in play, to achieve such a quick time Rydou took advantage of a movement speed glitch, they explain in the video description:

When you cripple your leg, you get slower, and then when you heal it, you’re supposed to get your speed back. By quickloading just before getting crippled, you can confuse the game into giving you the speed back without actually ever losing it (because we don’t actually really get crippled). So you get a huge speedboost, and walk at 165% of your walking speed.

That along with playing on very easy and skipping dialogue whenever possible lead to this record breaking time. You can watch the whole thing below. The video of course contains spoilers.
