Hitman: Go studio Square Enix Montreal have announced that the Hitman: Sniper app will be available on the App Store and Google Play for mobile devices on June 4th.

The mobile game will feature over 150 missions for Agent 47, set in the beautiful and ever changing map in Montenegro. Missions are scenario-driven, with the gameplay set to challenge you to perfect your skills and reach the top of the leaderboard.

Hitman: Sniper was announced at E3 last year, but was delayed after their soft launch in the Canadian iStore where it received lots of feedback, causing the developers to hold back on the release. ‘As some of you may have noticed, we’ve spent quite some time in soft launch receiving feedback and comments from everyone who enjoyed and shared the early version of the game,’ the studio have said in a statement on their website, where they’ve also stated the change from free-to-play to premium. ‘Hitman: Sniper will launch as a premium title focused around a creative, leaderboard-driven sandbox for players to experience.’

Almost half a year after the game was due to come out; there’s a lot of excitement (and some chagrin) for the game to be finally coming to mobile devices. How can you cram an amazing first person espionage murder spree into a finger tap, with the sole purpose – which will likely involve a large number of micro transactions – to be at the top of a global leaderboard? It’ll give you something to do while you’re on the toilet, I suppose.

Hitman: Sniper will be launched on June 4th on the App Store and on Google Play.
