Koji Igarashi, the brain behind Castlevania, has had a huge success over Kickstarter for his upcoming game Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. The pledge of $500,000 has been overtaken by more than $3,000,000 and counting with 11 days still remaining.

Recently the stretch goal of $3,000,000 has been reached, an update on May 31st ont he game’s Kickstarter page read “Update 14: $3 million! Wii U achieved + 2 New Stretch Goals” the update goes on to say “You did it, and we’re proud to have been standing nearby with a look of stunned disbelief on our faces.”

Igarashi updated:

“With the Wii U stretch goal achieved, it’s time to provide some further details:

  • We’re offering physical Wii U discs in addition to the digital copies!
  • If you’re a new backer, select any $28+ tier — you’ll be able to choose ‘Wii U’ during the post-Kickstarter survey.
  • If you’ve already backed and you want a Wii U copy, you don’t have to do anything — just wait for the post-Kickstarter survey.
  • You will be able to mix and match. For example, if you’ve backed at the $125 Physical + Digital tier, you may select Wii U for either/both copy.”

The update then goes on to explain the features that they are exited to implement with the Wii U port including the ability to draw on the map, mii social interaction, pro controller support and more. Full details can be found here.

The two new stretch goals have also been revealed with a backing of $3,250,000 gaining us asynchronous online multiplayer and a backing of $3,500,000 gaining us a Vita port. There is likely to be even more stretch goals with time as an ominous looking $3,750,000 goal is barely visible at the bottom.

The Wii U and Vita port will be developed by Armature Studios, if the necessary funding is provided and in the understanding that the initial $500,000 goal was met in around 4 hours it’s more than likely we’ll see a Vita port in the future. While Armature Studios handle the handheld ports, the XboxOne, PS4 and PC platforms will still be developed by Inti Creates as before.

Funding for the game closes on June 12th.
