Mario Tennis was last released in 2012 for the 3DS, and it hasn’t seen a console game since the Wii, all the way back in 2009.

By the looks of things, Nintendo is trying to shake things up for an already great franchise. With the usual crazy diving and smashing of tennis balls, this time your character grows pretty big, pretty fast.

Nintendo’s sports games, specifically Tennis, and Golf, have a reputation for being pretty well put together. Although by no means realistic, the games themselves handle well. And whoever doesn’t remember using the N64 controller as a weapon once someone scored a point on you, well, you were probably playing the game wrong. (Gamespresso does not condone N64 violence, nor do they encourage it.)

Mario Tennis: Ultra Slam will be released on the Wii U this holiday season.
