Amidst the massive array of triple A titles announced at this year’s E3 conference it’s quite easy to overlook some of the more humble developers. Tripwire, famous for the extremely popular Killing Floor, have announced Rising Storm 2 which takes the franchise to war torn Vietnam. Appearing on E3’s very first PC Gaming show, Tripwire spoke a little about their new title, Killing Floor 2, before going on to announce Rising Storm 2. So they’ve clearly been hard at work.
With games in this series such as Red Orchestra and Rising Storm, Tripwire have earned many positive reviews for their work with many claiming that their first person shooters are among the most authentic and realistic in the genre. “We’re bringing our gritty and realistic military shooter gameplay forward to a time when assault rifles ruled the ground, choppers ruled the skies, and every tunnel could hide an ambush,” said Tripwire Interactive President, John Gibson, “The iconic setting of Vietnam opens up so many opportunities for exciting asymmetrical gameplay.”
So if their past work is anything to go by then this will be a must have title for any PC shooter fan. Developed by Anti-Matter Games and Tripwire Interactive and published by Tripwire Interactive, Rising Storm 2 looks set to take a up close and personal look at the gritty battle between America and Vietnam, check out the trailer below
