Today at E3 Square Enix revealed a new trailer for Star Ocean 5:Integrity and Faithlessness along with more information on the game and a date. It was confirmed that the new Star Ocean will be released in North America and Europe in 2016.

The only platform mentioned for Star Ocean 5 was the Playstation 4; Star Ocean 5 was originally announced for both PS3 and PS4 which suggests that a version for Playstaion 3 has been dropped.

Square Enix also proudly announced that although the gameplay trailer was recorded in 30 fps the finished product will run at 60 fps while showing off some new gameplay images of the game.

The subtitled Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness is being created by series developer Tri-Ace and appears to be a classic Japanese RPG with real-time combat. This game is set between the events of Star Ocean: The Second Story and Till the End of Time.

Star Ocean 5 is due for release this winter for Japan and will be released in 2016 for North American and Europe so no doubt more information about the game will be coming out over the next few months as Japan’s release date gets closer.
