UPDATE: We originally reported that the Final Fantasy VII port to PS4 would be available in October for $16.99. Our source was incorrect and no official release date has actually been given. Also, the game will actually launch a dollar cheaper, priced at $15.99. Square Enix has provided Gamespresso with the following statement: “We can confirm that the published release date for this title is incorrect.  As discussed at this year’s E3, Final Fantasy VII will be ported to the PlayStation 4 in Winter 2015.  The pricing has already been announced last December to be set at $15.99.”

Original story is as follows:

While now greatly overshadowed by the world shattering news that Final Fantasy VII will finally be getting a full remake, there is still the matter of the up-ressed PC port coming to PS4 in the much nearer future. It was recently revealed the game will make its way to the PSN on October 16th for $16.99 or £12.99.

Originally announced at last November’s PlayStation Experience for a Spring 2015 release, it was announced at E3 that the game would see a slight delay. While obviously nowhere near the jaw-dropping nature of the remake trailer, the PC version of Final Fantasy VII does feature better graphics than the original. You can find the port trailer below. At E3 it was also announced the game will be making its way to iOS.

Will you be picking up Final Fantasy VII when it lands on PS4 this fall? Or are you just waiting for the remake now? Let us know in the comments.
