On July 15, Amazon celebrated “Prime Day,” a day of great deals meant to honor the company’s 20th anniversary.

Despite criticism that the deals were not worthwhile, Amazon announced on Thursday that it had sold more items than it ever did on Black Friday.

Consumers purchased a total of 34.4 million items on Prime Day, 18% more than they did on Black Friday 2014.

Although the deals were only available to Amazon Prime subscribers, the retailer managed to sell approximately 398 items per second.

Amazon was quick to laud the success of the event and promised that there will be another “Prime Day” in the future.

“Going into this, we weren’t sure whether Prime Day would be a one-time thing or if it would become an annual event,” Amazon said in a statement. “After yesterday’s results, we’ll definitely be doing this again.”

Below are some of the highlights from Prime Day on July 15.
