Nintendo has reported an increase in sales and operating income for the three months between April and June 2015.

Sales are up 20% compared to this time last year and the quarterly sales for the three months were $730 million. Nintendo’s operating income, meanwhile, was $9.2 million, which is also up on the $76.5 million for the same period last year.

Nintendo says they have Splatoon to thank for the great sales numbers and for single-handedly keeping the Wii U afloat. They also believe that the upcoming 3DS releases of Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, and The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes are key to expanding further the 3DS and New 3DS.

Amiibo will continue to expand as Nintendo has been blown away by the sale numbers that are amiibo related.

Is Nintendo finally turning things around? Or was this just a good quarter for the company? Catch us back in September for the next quarterly update.
