Hot on the heels of the Dragon Quest Builders announcement, Square Enix revealed they are working on the long awaited third game in the spin-off series, Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3, and it’s coming to the Nintendo 3DS.

Previous gameplay in the series has had players exploring areas and capturing monsters to put in your party for use in battle in single player and a multiplayer mode which allows players to go toe-to-toe with each other. Joker 2 revealed new monsters not in Joker so, even though there are few details at the moment, one could only assume Joker 3 will offer new monsters, systems, and connectivity functions.

Both the previous titles in the series, the aptly named Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker and Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2, were released on the Nintendo DS in Japan and eventually localized for play in North America; however, to much lower sales numbers. This and the fact that no release outside Japan was discussed raises the fear that Square Enix may not translate the third in the series, but considering the previous two have had international releases, one could only assume they will do the same with this one.
