At the end of the third day of the group stages, the main story is the success of CDEC Gaming.  After having to play through the wild card qualifiers, CDEC are now placed top of their group and have secured a place in the upper bracket.  An incredible feat given how little impact most wild card teams have had in the past.

Group B now sees Evil Geniuses behind CDEC by a mere two points.  EG struggled on day one, but have managed to overcome those difficulties, and even looked like they would snatch first place from CDEC before two draws against EHOME and Empire.  Competition for the upper bracket in this group is fierce, as only 3 points separate Newbee in 7th place from EHOME in 4th.  It is even still mathematically possible for MVP Hot6ix, who sit at the bottom of the group, to make it into the upper bracket.

Group A has teams Secret and LGD Gaming neck-and-neck for first place, with both teams tied on 14 points.  The two teams had a chance to pull away as they faced each other, but the series ended in a draw.  Unfortunately for NaVi and Invictus Gaming, they are now unable to qualify for the upper bracket, with both teams sitting on the bottom of the group with 3 points.  The teams in the middle of the table have it all to play for.  Cloud 9 have 10 points and could challenge Secret and LGD, but with only 6 points separating them from sixth place Fnatic the last day could see the shape of the group change drastically.
