Pokken Tournament is currently only available in Japanese arcades. That will be changing come spring 2016.

Pokken Tournament will release worldwide on Wii U in spring 2016. The Wii U version of the game was announced with the start of the Pokemon World Championship today in Boston, Mass. According to a statement from The Pokemon Company, the Wii U version of Pokken Tournament will boast “amazing graphics and smooth, fluid movements.”

Pokken Tournament was first revealed in August 2014. The game is in development by Tekken studio Bandai Namco, and is being overseen by veteran producer Katsuhiro Harada. Playable Pokemon include Pikachu, Machamp, Charizard, and Gengar. The game will also feature a special Pikachu named “Pickachu Libre.”

Harada stated that the goal for the game is for it to appeal to all fans of Pokemon. “Whether you are a casual player, a regular player, or a hardcore player, anyone who likes Pokemon can have fun.”
