The recently released launch trailer for Gears of War: Ultimate Edition uses Gary Jules’ cover of Tears For Fears’ Mad World, which was originally used in the iconic trailer for the original game in 2006.
The evocative track, also synonymous with cult classic film Donnie Darko, plays alongside footage from the game, which starts with CG footage from the 2006 game, before transitioning into in-game footage from the Ultimate Edition. The trailer pays homage to the original game, whilst also showing how far it’s come with it’s new 1080p graphics and 60fps for multiplayer.
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition launches on August 25 for Xbox One.
