Sony recently announced a bunch of movie release dates for the future. Among the announcements was the release date for the next Resident Evil movie. The sixth installment of the franchise is set to be released on January 27th, 2017.
The last movie of the franchise, Resident Evil: Retribution, came out back in 2012. The movie made more than $240 million dollars worldwide. Director Paul W.S. Anderson has said that he plans on making the sixth installment the final chapter of the series.
The first Resident Evil movie came to theaters back in 2002 and they have continued over the past decade. The movies are based off of Capcom’s popular video game series of the same name. Resident Evil 6 was the last game to come out for the franchise and received mix reviews. However, developers have said that they are reading user comments to make the next game much better. Resident Evil 7 does not have an official release date.
