Persona 5 is still set to be released in 2015 according to developer Atlus despite very few details being known regarding the game.

During an interview with God is a Geek, John Hardin, PR Manager for Atlus USA, insisted that the upcoming title will absolutely release this year in the west, despite some websites and publications listing it with a 2016 release date.

“The only thing I can confirm for Persona 5 is 2015,” Hardin said. “I’m working on getting those incorrect listing removed. We are trying to get publishers locked in for our titles in EU and will announce things when they are locked in. We don’t want another Shin Megami Tensei IV or Devil Survivor Overclocked situation. We are very aware of what happens when we make premature announcements for Europe. At least I am.”

Fans have been hesitant to believe Persona 5 would actually be released this year after it has failed to receive much promotion other than a website and a trailer. The game itself was originally scheduled for a winter 2014 release and is set to come to Playstation 4 as well as PlayStation 3.
