This past week Cliff Blesiznski, previously lead game designer for Gears of War, revealed his long-awaited new game, Lawbreakers. Lawbreakers is a free-to-play first-person shooter being published by Nexon. The game has been announced for the PC. but Cliff is open to making it available to consoles as well. He stated on Twitter that if fans want it on the PS4 or Xbox One to let Microsoft and Sony know.
Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft’s Xbox division, quickly took to Twitter to congratulate Cliff and his team. He even teased about Lawbreakers possibly coming to the Xbox One in the future. “Last time Cliff Bleszinski launched a new gaming franchise that one seem to turn out ok,” Spencer said. “Congrats to you and the team.” When asked whether we could see Lawbreakers on the Xbox One, Spencer replied, “Cliff Bleszinski is always welcome on Xbox.”
Lawbreakers is set to launch in 2016 for PC. We will have to wait and see to find out if it will be released on any consoles. This will be the first game Cliff Blesiznski creates with his new company Boss Key.
