Try to fit a lasso around this number.

Over 14 million copies of Red Dead Redemption have been shipped, up from the previous reported figure of 13 million.

Take-Two Interactive shared the new number for Rockstar Game’s 2010 western title in a shareholder document filed for the United States Government (The entire document can be seen here).

Elsewhere in the document, Take-Two wrote that Red Dead Redemption has “rejuvenated the western entertainment genre,” adding that the downloadable content for the game, Undead Nightmare, has also been commercially successful for the company.

Red Dead Redemption originally launched in 2010 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and it remains a popular title to this day. Red Dead Redemption spent a few weeks at the top of titles most requested to be functional with Xbox One’s upcoming backwards compatibility. Players have been pining for a sequel to the title for quite some too. A recent Ubisoft survey even mentioned a “Red Dead Redemption 2” as a choice for selecting games that would be of interest to the survey taker, but this hardly confirmation of the gaming in development.
