Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water will release this October. Nintendo has announced that the first two chapters of the game will be free when it releases.
Nintendo will allow gamers to download Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water’s prologue, chapter one, and “most of chapter two” as part of a “free-to-start” program. The full game will then be available to download in the eShop.
Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water was announced in early 2014. Maiden of Black Water will be the first entry in the main series since 2008’s Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, which released only in Japan. Maiden of the Black Water is the first core entry in the series to reach North America since 2005’s The Tormented. A couple of spin-offs have been released over the years. The latest spin-off, Fatal Frame: The Cursed Memoir, released on the 3DS in 2012
Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water releases exclusively on the Wii U on October 22nd.
