Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain released earlier this week. Since then, the game’s online servers have been experiencing problems, and have been shut down for maintenance.
This comes from the Japanese Konami website. Right now Konami is redirecting gamers to the site for updates on the game’s servers. The site has a small portion in English, with individual statuses for the five platforms that Metal Gear Solid V released on. All five are undergoing maintenance, though Konami has stated that the information on the site might not be fully up to date.
Issues with Metal Gear Solid V’s servers began being reported soon after the game released on Tuesday. The issue is directly affecting the Forward Operating Base multiplayer mode. Konami has tried some temporary fixes by disabling some features, but it has not helped.
Forward Operating Base mode is not Metal Gear Solid V’s main multiplayer mode. The main online mode, Metal Gear Online, does not release until October. Konami recently released a schedule for daily online bonuses in Forward Operating Base mode, and it is unclear if and how the server issues will affect it.
