Footage of Koei Tecmo’s take on the gory Attack on Titan – this time in game form – has been uploaded; it shows off… Pretty much what you’ve seen in the anime.

That’s not to say that the gameplay footage doesn’t look good, because who doesn’t want to fly through the air in the Maneuver Gear and rip Titans to shreds? Plus, we’ve seen that you’ll be fighting alongside protagonist Eren Yeager. The game looks to be an adaptation from the first season of the Attack on Titan anime, just focusing on the whole attacking part.

The game is being developed by Koei Tecmo in collaboration with Omega Force, a Dynasty Warriors studio.

The trailer doesn’t show much in the way of gameplay, other than a glorious amount of blood, so it’s hard to tell the details of what the game will involve. However the template used by Dynasty Warriors, where you move across a large area taking out the Titans, is a viable possibility.

Back in August, Koei Tecmo president Hisashi Kionuma spoke about his excitement to be working on the game.

‘Having evolved from a manga/anime series to an internationally recognized brand, we were enchanted by the opportunity to create our own take on humanity’s last stand against these overwhelmingly powerful beings, the Titans.’

Attack on Titan, the game, will launch on PlayStation 4, PS3 and PS Vita.
