Announced this week at the Tokyo Games Show, The Old Hunters will be the first and only DLC release for PS4’s dark, brutal RPG, Bloodborne, set to arrive November 24th. Since the game released earlier in the year, players have been anxiously waiting for the new content.

Apologizing for the long wait, Masaaki Yamagiwa, Sony Japan’s producer for Bloodborne, told Eurogamer, “We finished making the game and then moved into production on the DLC. It took that long, but that’s because of the sheer amount of volume. We’re sorry it took so long! But it’s as fast as was possible considering what’s in it.”

Explaining, he said, “We were originally planning on doing two sets of DLC… It was decided that with one set, we’d be able to do more with it, and have more volume for players to play with. As of right now, we have no plans for any more DLC.”

The new content is set to include three entirely new areas, mixed in with a few existing ones, around 10 new weapons, multiple new bosses, along with altered version of old ones, new NPCs spread throughout the game, and a narrative building off the core game, exploring fate of the ancient hunters of Yharnham.

The Old Hunters will run gamers $20, and a complete version of Bloodborne, combining the core game and the DLC, is planned for a December 3rd release. Will you be picking up The Old Hunters? Let us know in the comments.
