Last month, Nintendo fans were upset to learn that Star Fox Zero was being delayed to 2016. Legendary game designer, Shigeru Miyamoto formally apologized on facebook for the delay, but stated that it had a purpose to add the right polish to the title. Yusuke Hashimoto, game director at Platinum Games, who are helping Nintendo develop Star Fox Zero, spoke about the delay with GameSpot.

One of the most notable features of Star Fox Zero is the use of both the television screen and the GamePad screen simultaneously for intense aerial combat. “Those two screens, you can’t find that anywhere else,” he stated. “We’ve got them both moving at 60 fps, which is big for a lot of people, I think.” Hashimoto explained that having these two screens moving at 60 fps in Star Fox Zero is a big milestone for gaming in general and the delay is only there to make sure everything else comes together in terms of polish and feel.

If the use of both screens are running at 60 fps, it is safe to say that the delay must be for making everything else up to that caliber of quality. The holiday season may not be as strong for Nintendo without it, but when Star Fox Zero is released, hopefully it will grant players a new amazing adventure in the Lylat System.
