An absurdly extensive cast of crossover characters that branch over from Sega, Capcom and Bandai Namco is here right now and laid bare for your eyes to see. Bandai Namco has released an extensive trailer that shows off the combination attacks with all the revealed characters (possibly all characters in the game).

The currently confirmed playable cast of characters include:

  • Christ Redfield & Jill Valentine (Resident Evil)
  • Dante & Vergil (Devil May Cry)
  • X & Zero (Mega Man X)
  • Ryu & Ken (Street Fighter)
  • Demitri & Morrigan  (Darkstalkers)
  • Strider & Hotsuma (Strider/Shinobi)
  • Chun-Li & Ling Xiaoyu (Street Fighter/Tekken)
  • Jin & Kazuya (Tekken)
  • Kite & Haseo (.hack)
  • Yuri Lowell & Flynn Scifo (Tales of Vesperia)
  • Ciel & Nana (God Eater 2)
  • Reiji & Xiaomu (Namco x Capcom)
  • KOS-MOS & Fiora (Xenosaga & Xenoblade Chronicles)
  • Akira & Kage (Virtua Fighter)
  • Ichiro & Erica (Sakura Wars)
  • Sakura & Gemini (Sakura Wars)
  • Kazuma & Goro (Yakuza)
  • Zephyr & Vashyron (Resonance of Fate)
  • Chrom & Lucina (Fire Emblem Awakening)

While these are all the playable ‘paired’ characters, there are solo characters that serve as assists for the main duo teams:

  • Captain Commando (Captain Commando)
  • June (Star Gladiator)
  • Leon (Resident Evil)
  • Phoenix Wright & Maya Fey (Ace Attorney)
  • Felicia (Darkstalkers)
  • Ingrid (Street Fighter)
  • Heihachi (Tekken)
  • Natsu (Soul)
  • Aty (Summon Night)

  • Segata Sanshiro (Segata Sanshiro)
  • Ulala (Space Channel 5)
  • Pai Chan (Virtua Fighter)
  • Leanne (Resonance of Fate)
  • Ryo (Shenmue)

Finally, the enemies that also crossed over from the different worlds include:

  • Solo (Strider)
  • Nemesis T-Type & Ustanak (Resident Evil)
  • Nelo Angelo (Devil May Cry)
  • Sigma (Mega Man X)
  • Juri Han & M. Bison (Street Fighter)
  • Baby Bonnie Hood & Pyron (Darkstalkers)
  • Druk & Shturm Jr. (Captain Commando)
  • Vector & Black Hayato (Star Gladiator)
  • Skeith & Azure Kite (.hack)
  • Vajra (Soul Eater)
  • Saya, Dokugozu & Dokumezu (Namco x Capcom)
  • Zagi (Tales of Vesperia)
  • T-elos (Xenosaga)
  • ‘Unknown’ (Tekken)
  • Kamuz (The Adventure of Valkyrie: The Legend of the Time Key)
  • Dural (Virtua Fighter)
  • Robo-X (Streets of Rage)
  • Shadow (Space Channel 5)
  • Dokurobo & Ranmaru (Sakura Wars)
  • Metal Face (Xenoblade Chronicles)

Who knows if this is the finalized list. It is without a doubt extensive though. This also marks the first time that a 4th collaborative company (Nintendo) added into the series. There are obviously some additions and omissions from the previous game. And the combat mechanic has been slightly tweaked and customizeable. Hopefully it’ll sustain interests as that was a huge drawback to a lot of players.

Project X Zone 2 is to be released in Japan on November 12th, 2016 and the states on February 16th, 2016 for the Nintendo 3DS.
