The release of StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void can’t come sooner, leaving the undisputed best race until the end was surely a way to say they’re the best. Sadly I along with other fans must wait for its release on November 10th. In the meanwhile I can revisit the reason for my love affair with the Protoss as modders have been working excessively hard to recreate the original StarCraft as well as its expansion Brood Wars within the StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm engine. The project is called StarCraft: Mass Recall and has been in the works for over a year now and is still being updated to this day. You can check out their playlist here:

This recreation with the StarCraft 2 engine is incredibly faithful to the original game along with cutscenes and levels that were either from the demo back in the day or didn’t make the cut. The amount of love and time given to this mod is staggering! As mentioned, the mod is still being worked on with bug fixes, but for the most part it is full-featured with all the levels of the original games.
