Some composers are able to leave their mark on almost any movie they compose for. John Williams has been able to compose some of films most prolific adventure music, creating pieces for movies such as Saving Private Ryan, Star Wars, and Indiana Jones. For animated films such as Up, The Incredibles, and Ratatouille, we’ve had Michael Giacchino.
In a recent tweet by Brad Bird, it’s been announced that Michael Giacchino has been slated to compose the score for The Incredibles 2. While this shouldn’t come as a surprise to many, since Bird has had Giacchino compose music for every movie he’s made since 2004, it’s still an exciting piece of news for what will be the 15 year old sequel.

“I don’t think I could have made this movie right away,” Bird told ComingSoon.net earlier this year when he was asked if the past few years had changed how he sees the characters. “Nor would I want to. I always want to break things up with something else. I know some directors who have done a movie and then, the very next thing they do is the sequel to that movie. Unless it’s ‘Lord of the Rings’ and it was always conceived of us doing it that way, I will always want to break it up with something else and then come back to it. That said, I’m really looking forward to playing with this playset again.”
The Incredibles 2 is slated to hit theaters on June 21st, 2019.
