You will be able to play Dragon Quest VII and Dragon Quest VIII on your 3DS in 2016, Nintendo announced.

During their latest Nintendo Direct, the company revealed the two titles from the Square Enix RPG series will be available sometime next year. Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past will arrive in early summer of 2016, while Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King was given a strictly 2016 window.

Dragon Quest VII previously was remade for Nintendo 3DS when it was originally released in Japan in February 2013.

For Dragon Quest VII:

The island of Estard sits all alone in the middle of an endless ocean. However, the hero, a young boy from the fishing village of Pilchard Bay, and his best friend Kiefer, the crown prince of Estard, believe there is more to their world than meets the eye. Their suspicions are confirmed when they find their way inside a mysterious shrine and are transported to a strange new world. Join them on their journey as they travel the globe, searching for the scattered fragments of stone tablets that will open the door to new adventures and restore their world to the way it once was!

For Dragon Quest VIII:

Arguably the most famous Dragon Quest game in the series and the first to be released in Europe back in 2006, Dragon Quest VIII tells the story of the hero and his friends as they journey to track down and defeat the evil court jester, Dhoulmagus. The Kingdom of Trodain has been cursed by Dhoulmagus, turning the inhabitants into stone and transforming the king into a troll. It’s now up to the hero to return him into his original form and save the kingdom!
