Don Bluth and Gary Goldman cancelled the crowd funding for the Dragon’s Lair Movie, found on Kickstarter. The Idea behind the campaign was to raise enough money to make a 10 minute trailer, and then use that to pitch it and get funding from Hollywood. The movie would take an estimated $70 million to make, which is a low end budget for animated movies now.

The project, however, is not cancelled all together. Don Bluth and Gary Goldman will be taking the project to Indiegogo, another crowdfunding platform. They plan on changing the project based on what feedback they received while on Kickstarter. You can join the e-mail list for the Indiegogo campaign here.

The announcement came on Kickstarter with the following message, “Today, we are canceling our crowdfunding campaign. Ah, but Dirk and Daphne are not done yet! We’ll all be back in action on Tuesday, December 1st with a stronger, more valiant campaign we modeled after many of your suggestions.”

The Kickstarter had a goal of $550,000 of that, $241,579 was raised by 2,954 backers.
