With Thanksgiving and Black Friday come and gone already, retailers are announcing sales for the busiest shopping days of the year with the Wii U making quite the impact. Target Corporation recently announced record setting online sales with strong in store traffic as marking off a successful start to the holiday season for the second largest discount retailer in the United States.

Target notes “Guests were granted early access to nearly all of Target’s doorbusters on Target.com beginning Thanksgiving morning. Demand outpaced 2014’s record Thanksgiving performance, making it Target’s biggest day for online sales yet, driven largely by electronics.”

Target reports that “Gaming consoles were popular in stores and online, including Nintendo Wii U, which was the top selling item on Target.com.” Other electronic consumer goods, such as Apple iPads and Apple Watchers, were the top selling products on average for Target on Black Friday.

Furthermore, Target notes successful sales of TVs, a three-foot stuffed teddy bear (a surprise hit), and toys including LEGO, Barbie, Disney Princess, and Star Wars products.
