Bound, a new game by God of War developer is teased

Instead of waiting for the upcoming Playstation Experience, Sony Santa Monica announced a new game for the PlayStation 4.

Bound has been teased by this developer earlier this week but now we finally have some details. The game is being co-developed by Sony Santa Monica and Plastic, the same people behind Datura, and the director, Michal Staniszewki put up a post Playstation Blog describing it as, “ a 3D platformer designed for people with the desire to concentrate on the narrative side of games and experience a mature story.” He then continues to almost paradoxically state that Bound was “also being prepared for hardcore gamers looking for the challenge of one big puzzle that can be only solved by a community of players working together. We are going to deliver a ‘notgame’ to you, which is also a game. It’s up to you to decide how you would like to play.”

It’s a confusing couple of statements, mostly because it seems to denigrate its own arthouse platformer as some lower form of game, but the screenshots revealed show a very interesting visual design, taking cues from the highly expressive Bauhaus movement as well as geometric Suprematist inspiration. Outside of these shots, a declaration that Bound will run at 1080p at 60 FPS with ultra-sharp anti-aliasing, and the extensive motion capture at work to bring the player character, a ballerina, to life, not much else about this 3D platformer was revealed. Chances are more will be discussed at the PlayStation Experience later this weekend.
