The season 6 teaser trailer for Game of Thrones has just been released and its pretty foreboding. It begins with the Three Eyed Raven, voiced by actor Max Von Sydow, saying “We watch, we listen, we remember. The past is already written, the ink is dry.” The trailer then follows with many flashes of the some of the season’s harshest moments, including multiple character deaths and the stabbing of Jon Snow. Whether or not Jon is alive or dead still remains a mystery.
The teaser is only 41 seconds long and does not reveal anything about the upcoming season’s plot lines. While season 5 loosely followed the book, A Dance of Dragons, this upcoming season will contain material yet unseen in the A Song of Ice and Fire series. It will also contain some plot points from the upcoming 6th novel in the series, The Winds of Winter.
The trailer ends with Bran Stark delivering a rather ominous message, “They have no idea what’s going to happen.”
Game of Thrones season 6 premieres on HBO, April 26th.
