Tom Holland, the new Spiderman announced to be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has talked to The Daily Beast about his upcoming role. According to Holland, the new Spiderman iteration will focus more heavily on Peter Parker and his daily life than Sony’s films.

The British-born actor had this to say about his upcoming role – “It’s not going to be an epic thing; it’s going to be a film surrounded by these incredible things… Peter Parker is a favorite of many because everyone can relate to him…”. Holland is noted as saying that his Peter Parker will be written to be more relatable to both long- and short-term fans of Marvel comics.

As for Spidey’s appearance in Civil War, many are anticipating to see the famous Iron Spider suit designed by Tony Stark. When pressed about the suit in an interview with Den of Geek, the film’s co-director Anthony Russo stated – ” The film will show a mix of what everyone is waiting for with a little twist. So yeah, that’s all I can say”. This Makes it anyone’s guess as to what we’re going to see this Spring.

Holland is the third actor to play the web-head in film in a decade and will first be seen in the role May 6th of next year in Captain America: Civil War. Marvel will then release a stand-alone Spiderman film on July 28th 2017.
