Many fans have been alarmed by 2K Games’ approach to XCOM 2‘s DLC. Prior to the game being launched 2K has already announced that XCOM 2 will be getting three DLC packs. The three packs will be sold for $20 in form of a season pass or a $75 Digital Deluxe Edition that comes will the game as well. The director of XCOM 2, Jake Solomon, has come out to defend the DLC strategy and assure gamers that the DLC is not content cut out from the original game.

“I could swear on a stack of science books–which is a big deal to me–this isn’t cut content. We don’t work on DLC until we finish the core game,” Soloman stated. “I understand the concern, but I feel totally comfortable engaging in that conversation,” he says. “We’re not holding anything back. We have a lot of content to make for DLC, but we won’t start on it until we make the core game.”

XCOM 2 is slated to release on February 5, 2016 for the PC. The first DLC pack is due to release sometime that Spring. The remaining two DLC packs are due to release by the end of the summer.
