Getting access to this week’s beta for The Division requires either pre-ordering the game or winning an entry code via email. Until now, that is.
Users who are short on money and are dying to participate in The Division’s beta may have a way around that. Eurogamer reports the following method should allow you to play the beta without buying the game.
Enter the PlayStation Store and search for The Division. On the game’s page, select “pre-order” and then select “pre-order and pay.” Through this method, the beta should begin downloading to your console. When it is complete, simply enter the settings menu, find the transaction where you purchased the game and cancel it. No funds are swapped and the beta remains on your console.
The beta begins on January 28 on Xbox One with PS4 and PC players joining in a day later on January 29. It’s set to run until January 31.
