Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, follows Isaac, a small pixilated boy on his horrific journey to escape his mother. In this game remake, Isaac must make his way through a series of dark stages, fight off some rather grotesque bosses. Though this journey he will discover treasures that will transform him beyond his human capabilities.
In this RPG shooter, Isaac uses his tears as projectiles to fight off the monsters that stand in his way. For this an other apparent reasons, Rebirth was rejected from Apple’s App Store. A mildly distruntled tweet from the producer, Tryone Rodriguez, contained a screenshot of Apple’s rejection. Apple marked Rebirth as problematic due to the “content or features that depict violence towards, or the abuse of, children.”
Though it seems that all this rejection has done is made Apple seem foolish. Binding of Isaac, Rebirth is still available to play on PC, Mac, Linux, XBox One, PS4, PSVita, and even the WiiU and 3DS. Even Nintendo, probably considered the most family targeted console developer out there, has approved Rebirth for their systems. Though Nintendo was originally apprehensive of the game. But it wasn’t for the reasons one might think: Questionable religious content. The game features a high amount of demonic elements, as well as grotesque depictions of the 7 deadly sins.
