Red Dead Redemption is one of 2010’s most critically acclaimed games. Released by Rockstar Studios, the company behind the Grand Theft Auto franchise, Red Dead Redemption received high scores from most websites.

For the backwards compatibility program, it is one of the most demanded games for the program. And for a brief moment, the dream came true for the hopeful masses. Red Dead Redemption, along with Halo Wars, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, and more were added to the system briefly.

Larry Hryb, or Major Nelson, took to Reddit to apologize to fans for the disappointment. They are still currently testing the game, according to Hryb. “Microsoft tests all Xbox 360 games with our emulator to ensure a quality experience across a breadth of titles. Due to an error, some of the games currently in test were accidentally made available. We have since removed access to those games, and apologize for any confusion this may have caused. We will have more information on upcoming releases soon.”

In response to an eager comment regarding Black Ops II, Hryb said that they are hoping to bring as many titles from the Xbox 360 over as possible.
