Ark survival evolved is a multiplayer focused around action, survival, and dinosaurs.

The game itself isn’t out yet, but it is in early access on Xbox One and Steam. For the developers, Studio Wildcard, that isn’t enough. They want to bring the game to PlayStation in early access – they just don’t have a way.

With early access being a hot topic in recent years, it wasn’t long until someone started speaking up about Sony’s lack of program. GOG recently jumped on the bandwagon, offering a unique system for ‘approved’ early access games.

For those with a PlayStation, you still can’t access games that haven’t been fully released yet. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, with several Kickstarters and early access games never seeing the light of day – but it certainly limits developers who want to finish their games.

Ark: Survival Evolved’s creative director, Jesse Rapczak, said that he was excited for the PlayStation 4, but “Ark is in the state where at present time unless it’s finished, it’s not coming out on PS4 until they have some other program that allows us to do that.” (source)

For PlayStation users, though, Rapczak says they will benefit from the Xbox One early access program. “It feels weird to say this, but fortunately the Sony players will benefit greatly from the Xbox early access.”

Ark: Survival Evolved is hopeful for a June 2016 release, on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC.
